Manchester City vs Aston Villa 2014 (4-0) ~ All Goals & Highlights

That’s the way to do it. No alarms and no surprises greeted Manchester City last night. It was tense, for a while, but the best team won — the match and, most probably, the league. A point against West Ham United on Sunday will do it, given the plus-13 goal difference advantage over Liverpool. The fourth goal of the game was Manchester City’s 100th in the Barclays Premier League this season, an amazing achievement no matter the budget. There are plenty of teams who have spent a few quid winning the title but, if the finale goes according to plan, few will have done it with as much style as City. They need four goals to overtake the 103 scored by Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea team in 2009-10.MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 ASTON VILLA: 90 minutes stand between Manchester City and their second Premier League title after Edin Dzeko hit a decisive second-half double before Stevan Jovetic scored late on to send Manuel Pellegrini's team to the top of the table. City are certain to reclaim the championship they surrendered to Manchester United last season when they play West Ham at home on the final game of the season. They lead nearest rivals Liverpool by two points, who now need a miracle to realise their dream of becoming champions for the first time in 24 years. Meanwhile Sunderland secured top flight safety after defeating West Brom 2-0.Manchester City's Edin Dzeko scores his second goal during the Premier League game with Aston Villa. Manuel Pellegrini's team took their time before showing why they are champions-in-waiting, but once they shed their inhibitions they quickly rattled off the goals that took them to 100 for the season and made the arithmetic simple. Anything but a defeat in their final game and City will have sealed their second title in three seasons.
